Today started well (well it is Friday after all), we had a very stress morning, until just as we were leaving for school, my daughters teacher rang to speak to me which made us late, but traffic was being kind.

One of the positive points of having a child in year 6, is that you no longer have to go along to the school fairs, I could just send her off with our donations, and money for her to spend and I will just pick her up when she is ready.

As a treat I am being domesticated and have made a loaf of bread, I do love the smell of bread cooking.

Not much to report at the moment, as no dramas today which is lovely for me, but boring for you.

I will update later as I am sure there will be much more to say

Easy Homemade Ice Cream

This is such a quick and simple recipeĀ and my daughter loves making this, and in this weather why not.

 

1 can of condensed milk

1 tub double cream

vanilla essence (or whatever flavour you want)

Pour the double cream into a bowl and whisk until thickened

Add the condensed milk and stir into the cream

Add a few drops of vanilla essence

At this stage you can add other ingredients, for example, cookie dough, chocolate chips, fruit, whatever you fancy

Pour into a freezable container (I keep old ice cream tubs), place a lid on and pop in the freezer until frozen.

You do not have to stir every so often, you simply forget about it until you want to eat it, and it comes out smooth and creamy.

You could swap the condensed milk for the caramel condensed milk which is lovely on its own, but we like to add fudge pieces.
